These terms are an agreement between you and CcsSync LLC, a Virginia limited liability company ("CcsSync LLC," "we," or "us"). They cover your use of PortalCal, an independently developed tool that copies a calendar feed published by your employer, school, or another service into a calendar of your choosing. By installing or using PortalCal, you agree to these terms.
PortalCal reads a calendar feed you give it - a web link, with a username and password if the feed needs one - and writes its events into Outlook (personal or Microsoft 365 work/school accounts) or Google Calendar, on a repeating schedule while it is running. After any free trial, continued syncing requires an active subscription. If you obtained PortalCal from our website, the subscription is sold and managed through Lemon Squeezy, and a license key activates PortalCal on one computer at a time; deactivating it on one computer frees the key to be used on another. If you obtained PortalCal from the Mac App Store, the subscription is sold and managed by Apple through your Apple Account, and no license key is used. A subscription bought one way does not unlock a copy obtained the other way.
PortalCal is an application for Windows and for Mac that runs on your own computer. There is no hosted or server-side version: the sync runs on your computer, and your schedule is never held on ours. What that means for your data is set out in the Privacy Policy.
PortalCal works by reading a feed that someone else publishes. That feed belongs to them, not to PortalCal. They may change, restrict, interrupt, block, or permanently discontinue the feed or access to it at any time, without notice and without PortalCal's knowledge or consent - and if that happens, PortalCal may stop working, partly or entirely, temporarily or permanently. You are responsible for making sure that connecting PortalCal to a feed is permitted by whoever publishes it. You agree that CcsSync LLC is not responsible or liable for anything that publisher - or any other third party, including Microsoft, Google, Apple, or Lemon Squeezy - does or fails to do, and you agree to hold CcsSync LLC harmless for it.
PortalCal may be unavailable, in whole or in part, temporarily or permanently, at any time and for any reason - including outages, maintenance, changes by the feed's publisher or the calendar providers, or discontinuation of the product. No level of availability is promised.
PortalCal is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied - including, without limitation, any warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that your calendar will sync correctly or on time. You use it at your own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CcsSync LLC is not liable for any damages - direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential - arising from your use of, or inability to use, PortalCal, including damages arising from a missed, late, or incorrect understanding of your schedule. This includes situations where a sync failure, delay, or error contributed to a missed start time, a missed shift, or any other consequence at work or elsewhere. Again: verify schedule-critical information directly against the publishing system, not against your calendar. The refund described under "Your sole remedy" below is the only remedy available for any failure of PortalCal, however arising.
If PortalCal fails to work, stops working, or is discontinued, your sole and exclusive remedy - to the fullest extent permitted by law - is a prorated refund of the fee already paid for the unused portion of your current billing period. For a subscription bought through Lemon Squeezy, we make that refund through Lemon Squeezy. For a subscription bought through the Mac App Store, refunds are made by Apple under Apple's own refund process, which we do not control; contact us and we will help you request one. In every case, CcsSync LLC's total liability arising out of or relating to PortalCal is capped at the amount you paid for PortalCal in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some places do not allow certain limitations; where that is true, these apply to the fullest extent allowed.
You're responsible for keeping your feed credentials and any license key confidential. PortalCal stores any feed password encrypted, locally on your own computer (in the Keychain on a Mac) - see the Privacy Policy for detail on what is stored and where, and how to have it deleted.
You can stop using PortalCal and remove it from your computer at any time. Subscription billing and cancellation are handled through Lemon Squeezy or, for a Mac App Store purchase, through the subscription settings of your Apple Account. Removing PortalCal from your computer does not by itself cancel a subscription. Canceling a subscription stops future syncing but does not delete anything already written to your calendar.
If you obtained PortalCal from the Mac App Store, these terms are an agreement between you and CcsSync LLC only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for PortalCal or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of PortalCal; where that agreement gives you rights that these terms cannot limit, it governs.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to PortalCal or these terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Virginia, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
If these terms change, the date at the top of this page will change with them. Continuing to use PortalCal after a change means you accept the updated terms.
